Heat Quality
Both loose leaf vaporizers heat up in under half a minute. DaVinci IQ heats up slightly faster; by a brief 6 seconds. Of course, if you're going to be heating concentrates (which require much higher temps) expect the PAX 3 to take longer.
*PRO TIP - Switching back and forth between concentrates and dry herbs can result in a quickly clogged airway. Old pros tend to recommend a separate vape for each material. Otherwise prepare for lots of cleaning!
DaVinci IQ's temps go slightly higher, but this isn't a big concern in a dry herb vaporizer. The point of vaping is to avoid combustion (a.k.a. getting so hot it combusts into fire) which separates smoke from vapor. DaVinci's temperatures start a full hundred degrees lower, and you can taste the difference in the fresh flavor of steady heat.
The PAX's half-pack lid does accommodate a partial load of ground material better. By shrinking the size of the heating chamber, the vaporizer is able to warm the smaller amount more efficiently.
