Everything You Need to Know About GRAV
Alright our herbal friends, if you’re a true purveyor of excellent herb and all the devices to use with it, then you’ve heard of the infamous GRAV Labs. If not: here’s your first introduction.

Where GRAV Began:
Way back in 2020 -- a very different time for the herb community, indeed -- a Texan named Dave Daily created what’s now known as the Gravitron.
This minimalist device became GRAV's first landmark design. It's a classic gravity bong; made of high quality borosilicate glass, not the plastic water bottles you may have seen DIYed back in the day.
Simple high-science design remains GRAV's signature style. As you'll see below, the Austin based glass brand continues to craft minimal shapes that pack a scientific punch.
The Gravitron championed borosilicate glass. Boro glass is now the mainstream for USA made glass as a safe, commercial-grade material; even at high temps. It’s easy to clean and more durable than any other glass out there. In short: it’s perfect for crafting high quality pipes, and that’s exact what Dave Daily did. Since Daily's start with the Gravitron, GRAV Labs has masterminded tons more chart-toppers. Their most popular: Helix, Upline, STAX, and their basic boro glass pipes!You can always spot a GRAV pipe from their clean lines and scientific glass. Silicon Valley
GRAV Labs makes quite a few appearances on Silicon Valley's Erlich Bachman character. Perhaps the most famous of all scenes is with GRAV's 18-Inch Steamroller - the coughing scene is hysterical!
High Maintenance
Another TV show you’ve probably enjoyed with some fresh flowers nearby; the second season of Showtime's High Maintenance features the Helix beaker once again.
Weeds
Clearly Showtime's popular series is one of those shows that has to feature pipes and vapes a few times, and you can see a Helix hand pipe pop up in season 5 during one sesh.

Season 5 of Ray Donovan features a nice classic borosilicate beaker from GRAV Labs.
GRAV Signature Collections
Another brainchild of Dave Daily’s, this Helix pipe is famous for its unique Venturi chamber, which is actually a type of mouthpiece that sends goodness spiraling for your visual pleasure. How? By adding three airflow valves in the mouthpiece bubble, this extra pull of air helps to push the smoke into this pattern, eventually twisting into your mouth.

GRAV Controversy: Resolved
While you might be excited about this local U.S. company, GRAV Labs isn’t the only U.S. purveyor of pipes (check out Empire Glassworks, Nucleus and Chameleon Glass, to name a few), and some of its competitors accused GRAV of dumping cheap Chinese glass pipes into their collections. GRAV Labs has responded to these complaints by cutting off this section to their business. Rest assured, GRAV has since prioritized in-house craftsmanship to preserve their high quality reputation.
It’s no doubt that GRAV Labs has truly helped elevate the 4/20 community to where it is today. GRAV continues to play a large role in making herbal fun more mainstream and respectable with clean construction and scientific precision. We’re so excited about where GRAV Labs will head in the future. This is an industry leader and a pillar in history.
